David Knutson is the Head of Credit Research for the Americas. Based in New York, he leads the Investment Grade, High Yield, Emerging Market and Municipal research teams. David joined Schroders from Legal and General Investment Management America (LGIMA) where he was part of the original team of four that established LGIMAs investment business in the USA. Over ten years, he led the research initiatives for Global Financials and Latam. Prior to joining LGIMA, David was responsible for investment grade and high yield research for Mason Street Advisors, the investment adviser to Northwestern Mutual. David started his career in 1992 at Bank of America as a credit analyst and was later promoted to Director of Research. He moved to UBS in 1997 and worked in risk management before joining investment banking. He is the Co-Head of The Credit Roundtable, an industry group that advocates for creditor rights through education and outreach. David earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM) and Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designations and graduated from Iowa State University of Science and Technology with a double BA (Honors) and MS in economics, finance and foreign languages.
