Mr. Nguyen is a managing director and head of NewOak’s Public Finance Credit team. 

Mr. Nguyen leverages 35 years’ credit and distressed municipal trading and portfolio management experience to provide portfolio surveillance and risk analytics to world class banks, insurance companies and asset managers within NewOak’s client portfolio. He is responsible for the development and direction of NewOak’s team of credit experts in corporate and municipal credit.

A highly sought-after authority and speaker in the municipal bond space, Mr. Nguyen is also the author of Investing in the High Yield Municipal Market: How to Profit from the Current Municipal Credit Crisis and Earn Attractive Tax-Exempt Interest Income, published by Bloomberg Press in 2012.

Before joining NewOak, Triet founded one of the municipal industry’s first independent municipal credit research firms, Axios Advisors. His past experience also includes B.C. Ziegler, Saybrook Capital, John Hancock Funds and the Putnam Funds.

Mr. Nguyen holds an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting and a B.A. in Economics both from the University of Chicago.
