Mr. Koenig has been with Monroe since its founding in 2004 and serves as its CEO. Monroe Capital is a private credit asset management firm specializing in direct lending and opportunistic private credit investing for middle market borrowers in the United States and Canada.

Mr. Koenig oversees a team of approximately 150, with 75 investment professionals that are focused on deal sourcing and underwriting. The firm manages over $10B of capital, is headquartered in Chicago and maintains offices in Boston, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco.

Mr. Koenig is the Chairman, President and CEO of Monroe Capital Corporation (NASDAQ: MRCC), a publicly traded business development company (BDC); and as Chairman, Director and CEO of Monroe Capital Income Plus Corporation. He also serves as Chairman, CEO and a Director of MCAP Acquisition Corporation (NASDAQ: MACQU), a special purpose acquisition corporation. Monroe Capital LLC (“Monroe”) is a premier boutique asset management firm specializing in private credit markets across various strategies including direct lending, asset-based lending, specialty finance, opportunistic and structured credit, and equity. Prior to Monroe, Mr. Koenig was President and CEO of Hilco Capital LP, a junior secured/mezzanine debt fund established in 2000.  He is a graduate of the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University (B.S.) in accounting with high honors and Chicago-Kent College of Law (J.D.) with honors.
